Here is a brand new e-cigarette review to kick off 2012. This time we are going to take a look at the “South Beach Smoke” e-cigarette deluxe kit.
The guys at South Beach sent me this review kit, which contains a 5-pack of tobacco flavored cartridges (as part of the deluxe kit) and also 2 extra 5-pack’s with additional flavors – Cherry and Vanilla.
Size & Weight
This deluxe kit came with 2 slim e-cig batteries: 1 long and 1 short. These look pretty similar to the V2 electronic cigarettes that I have tried in the past but they perform a lot better (I’ll cover that later in the review).
Compared to other brands on the market, the South Beach Smoke e-cigarette batteries look almost like real cigarettes, even up close. The nicotine juice cartridge even mimics the filter or butt of an analogue cigarette.
Battery Life
The battery life is on part with the other brands of slim electronic cigarettes that I’ve reviewed in the past, and you can expect each fully charged battery to last about half a day if you are a chain smoker, or 3/4 of a day if you only smoke around half a pack of cigs a day.
As with all other batteries, you will have to charge each battery for around 3-4 hours before first-use, and then 2-3 hours for consecutive recharges, to maximize the performance and battery life. Although, I think these batteries came already pre-charged, as it only took me about 20 minutes to charge them up.

Vapor Production
Here is what really impressed me about the South Beach Smokes electronic cigarette. The type of vapor that I experienced out of my deluxe kit was surprisingly thick, and plentiful.
I was also pleasantly surprised that the vapor was also a lot warmer than other brands of e-cigs I’ve tried and that’s a very, very good thing! The “hit” I get at the back of my throat is solid, and far exceeds other brands like the V2 electronic cigarette.
After a few hours of use however, the vapor produced was about 40% less due to the battery getting drained. A quick battery change later, and I was back up to producing clouds of vapor again.

The Taste: The Most Important Aspect
The guys at South Beach Smoke only sent me 3 different nicotine liquid flavors: Cherry, Tobacco and Vanilla. Since I only had these 3 flavors to try, I can’t say much about their other flavors. If any of you have tried them, please share your experiences in the comments section below. I’d love to hear from you.
I personally love these flavors (check out my video for details). The taste is REAL, rich and a very pleasant experience. Combined with the good throat hit, this product definitely sits high up on my preferred e-cig brands list.

It would be great if the company offered more flavors, but I’m sure they’d be releasing some new e-liquids in the very near future.
Are The E-cig Cartridges Refillable?
No, these cartridges are non-refillable but it may be a good thing for those who just want a hassle-free vaping experience. I’ve learned from speaking to many people that refilling cartridges is not for everybody. Some people just don’t want to go through issues with leaking cartomizers, dripping to refill, just to save a couple more dollars.
Price of Cartridge Refills
The price of cartridge refills are not the cheapest I’ve seen. In fact, they cost a little bit more than other brands I have come across. But hey, you get what you pay for. I’d rather pay a few more dollars to enjoy vaping, than to go down the cheap and nasty route.
The good thing about these South Beach Smoke cartridge packs is, that you can buy them in bulk, which makes it a lot cheaper. Buy a small batch to try, decide on your favorite flavors then buy bulk – easy.
Conclusion: Are South Beach Smoke E-cigarettes Good?
As I’ve mentioned many times in the past (and even in this video review), I do not review e-cig products if they are low quality, and taste like crap. Why waste time talking about and recommending a product to others, if I personally wouldn’t use the products myself, right?
I’m pleased to give South Beach my two-thumbs up. The South Beach Smoke e-cigarette is a high quality product, that is hassle-free and extremely easy for a beginner to use. Best of all, I really like the e-liquid flavors. I highly recommend it.

Nope. But they do ship to Australia with no problems. Few friends of mine based in Oz have ordered them with no issues.
Do the cartridges come in foil sealed packs to maintain freshness?. Any other info on the packaging of the cartridge would be helpful as well. Many thanks.
The cartridges come in a small cardboard box and have rubber tips to seal in the juice. The flavors are sealed in pretty well and I find no complaints – just as good as other brands I’ve tested.
Hi..I’ve tried a couple of disposable e-cigs that were to be tobacco flavored. They tasted like shit. I’m now looking at the the south beach. My question is does the tobacco flavor taste like a real cigarette? I’m not into the flavors like you are. I only want it to taste like a cigarette. Thanks. I appreciate your time and videos.
The disposables always taste like crap as they are the cheap and nasty stuff, and you get what you pay for. The South Beach tobacco tastes different from your normal cigarette.
Regular cigarettes have a nasty aftertaste, the SB tobacco is smooth, and even though I’m not a big tobacco fan, I have given the SB Smokes a thumbs up purely for quality of flavor.

Can these be dripped? Can any ecig be dripped. or do some require carts?

Nope you can’t drip these. These are cartomizers essentially so you don’t need to. Dripping is a major hassle after a while.
I’ve never tried the 3-piece for south beach so I cannot advise you there. Good luck!
Love the menthol carts. Very well designed batteries, big fan of the high capacity one, supermax technology is amazing, too. Didn’t think at first the menthol would be this good, expected decent, got amazing! Vapor is lovely as well, very thick and smoke-like. def. takes my edge off, satisfies all urges. Glad i chose south beach smoke.

Hey great review. I have used South Beach for awhile, and coming from smoking Camel Menthols and American Spirtits (yellow pack) The Menthol is a great vape. By far the closest tasting to an analog cig. The customer service and sales guys are insanely helpful. My personal contact at South Beach Smoke- Ronnie is great. Hi all thanks for the reviews I’m Just one week in and I don’t have any need/ yearning for cigarettes when I use these. I don’t have cravings like im quittinf cold turkey it just feels like im smoking regular. After reading the posts I was hoping they would be good but i didnt expect this good. man, the menthol flaovr is spot on and not very minty, just really cool going down. the vapor is also really powerful, the throat hit as they say is really good and I really feel it. cant wait to see where this goes as i vape more, i really hope to eventually go nicotinie free! What about the tank type e-cigs are they better or just for the Pros would know how to mix the liquid and re-fill these?
ive used a lot of the big names in ecigarettes and one common issue ive seen with nearly all (except SBS) is that the tobacco flavors all taste like dirt. Or cardboard. Just freakin dry and nasty, like musty even. This was a hige problem for when I first was using e-cig b/c i wanted to quit smoking but the taste on like blue smoke, premium, apollo wer all bad and i couldnt get used to them no matter how hard i tried. i dont know what convinced me to try SBS in the first place but i am so glad that i did because they are the only ones i know of wth good, tru to form flavors. all of the tobacco flavors taste like tobacco and they give you 3 choices so i am a really happy camper. this was the big kicker that made quitting/ switching work for me. I use the tobacco gold, its alot like my old merits, and can personally vouch for it tasting great. thee-cig is great to, lots of vapor and it feels good when i hold it/ use it. Sooooooo happy that i found this brand as long as im vaping, this is it for me!
This is the onl e-cig brand worth the time, I think, if you want a real alterntaive to cigareattes. I think it’s the only one ive tried that didn’t change its formula and flavors after I got used to it, and that’s really anooying when other brands do that! So SOUTH BEACH SMOKE IS AWESOME! I love all of the flavors i have tried, but you all really outdid it with the Peach flavor- i tried it cuz i kept hearing about it and its so damn good! i love that the cartridges last longer than a pack of cigs and how i dont really have to spend so much time smoking- my time is way better used with e-cigs.
Awesome. Really glad that I decided to go with South Beach. It can be SO hard to fnd a good e-cigarette brand! A friend referred me to SBS and I even got 10% off my first order because she sent me a link via the referal program they offer. What a nice way to offer new custmers a little something extra. I have the Deluxe/ Basic starter kit, works great. Love the easiness of the e-cig– draws like a regular cigarette and its very easy to use. Using these I don’t have to think about anything really I just vape and thats it! I have also been really thankful for the level of communication they offer, never left hanging with anything. Like SBS came recommended to me I would definitely refer them to anyone I know that wants to stop using tobacco cigarettes.
I bought these electronic cigarettes back in March, thinking it was going to be really simple to start using them and then stop smoking/ or vaping all together. It definitely was different than I imagined, and it was definitely not that simple. While I hope to eventually go nicotine free, for now I’m using the 12mgs and its cool. Switching from cigarettes was easy but my cravings for the nicotine didnt stop, and these really do take care of that. I just wish it were easier to be done, but I’m working towards it. I was a smoker for 23 years, so I guess I cant be too picky- I should just be glad I’m not taking in the smoke all the time anymore. I like that south Beach SMoke has a wide range of flavors, Im really crazy about the menthols, they are very to cigarettes in their taste. I like the vapor, like how they are easy to use. As for the e-cigs themselves I have not had any problems with them, the quality is all therre, and i am glad I can fall back on them.
